And you thought it was your property!
A fellow agent mentioned the City of Federal Way had told one of her clients they couldn’t park their RV at their house. That didn’t seem right to me.
She must have been talking about CC&R’s, right? That I could understand. That makes sense.
If you don’t like the CC&R’s of a subdivision, then don’t buy there. No problem.
But it seemed wrong to me for a city to try to limit property rights if it wasn’t based on health, safety, and/or welfare.
Curious, I did a little searching, and unfortunately… it’s true! The City of Federal Way, WA doesn’t allow you to park your large RV on your own residential lot.
I still remember learning 20+ years ago that property ownership was a bundle of rights. Those rights seem to be continuously eroded (another example here). What’s next… you have to get city approval before you can paint your house a particular color?
