I survived as a judge at the Salsa Showdown last night. I was apprehensive at first. There were 15 entries to taste. But they were all good. Some hot, some mildly hot , and a few started “smokin” as I unscrewed the lid. But none were “excessive”.
There were a few really original recipes. I especially like the one with strawberry and kiwi ingredients.
In the end, all three judges agreed on the first and second place winners (sorry – me bad -I forgot to get the names behind the numbers after the winners were announced).
It was a fun experience and maybe I’ll be lucky and get invited back next year.
