The City of Edgewood is proposing spending $8 million dollars for a park at 36th & Meridian.
It might be a nice park but it sure seems like a lot of money particularly during this time of declining home values… $2760 for the average taxpayer (including interest).
I’m not sure, but I don’t think that includes all maintenance (so the real cost is most likely higher). Probably have to build up the city bureaucracy add additional staff and equipment for that. Of course the City will say “but you’ll pay for it over time.. not all at once.”
Does that remind you of some used car salesman saying “don’t worry about how much it costs, think about how little (much) per month?”
The measure will be on the August 19th election ballot.
